SUMMARY:
Article XIII (B) of the California Constitution limits the growth of
appropriations for Fiscal Year (FY) 2004-2005 to $1,035,492 as reflected in the
computations on Proposition 13 Worksheet
(Attachment 1 of Exhibit 13-A). The FY 2004-2005 proposed budget assumes that the District will
receive $840,000 in property tax revenues during Fiscal Year 2004-2005. This amount is less than the limit calculated
under the provisions of Article XIII (B).
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of Article
XIII (B) 2004-2005 appropriations limit as set forth in Resolution
2004-___. The Administrative Committee
reviewed this item at its June 7, 2004 meeting and voted 2 to 0 to recommend
approval.
